Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Paper plates (1 per jellyfish)
  • Paint or markers
  • Pipe cleaners (for tentacles)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Optional: googly eyes for a cute touch

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Step 1: Paint/Color Your Paper Plate
Have your kiddos paint or color the paper plate. Bright ocean colors (blues, purples, pinks) look amazing! Let it dry.

Step 2: Cut Your Jellyfish Shape
Cut one paper plate in half to create the jellyfish’s body.

Step 3: Curl Your Pipe Cleaner Tentacles
We curled ours by wrapping them around a finger to create a coil and then pulling each end of the pipe cleaner to lengthen the coil.

Step 4: Glue Your Pipe Cleaners
Lay one half of your jellyfish body down (white side up) and glue your tentacles to the straight side of the plate. At this point you’ll also sandwich your two paper plate halves, so add glue accordingly and stick the two halves together!

Step 4: Add Eyes and Personality
Glue on googly eyes or draw a fun face. Encourage kids to make their jellyfish unique, maybe a smiling one, a sleepy one, or even a rainbow one!

Step 5: Display Your Jellyfish
Hang them from the ceiling, a window, or create an “under the sea” wall in your playroom.
